Cue Tips

Cue tips in billiards are the equivalent of tires for cars - they provide a temporary connection between the cue and the ball. With diameters ranging from 8 to 11 mm for snooker cues and 11 to 14 mm for pool and carom cues, the options for cue tips are varied. They can be made from pigskin or water buffalo leather, and plastic is becoming increasingly popular as well. Pigskin is often softer and more resilient, allowing for easier transfer of spin to the cue ball. Meanwhile, water buffalo leather is prized for its precision and more accurate feedback of collisions. The range of hardness available spans from SuperSoft to Extra-Hard.

Cue tips are available in two forms - single leather and multi-layered leather. Single leather tips are more cost-effective to produce, while multi-layered leather tips are more dimensionally stable and maintain their shape over time. With fewer variations in quality, it's easier to find a cue tip that suits your preferences with multi-layered leather.

It's important to note that the cue tip plays a crucial role in a successful game, and every player has unique preferences. To find the right cue tip for you, we recommend trying out different options until you find the one that feels just right.
